A hero of the day can be found in many places, from doctors and nurses who are trained to save lives and comfort those who suffer to teachers who have the patience of Job to educate our future generations. They are also the police officers who keep us safe, and the firefighters who fight fires that threaten our very existence. But one hero that is often overlooked is the pastor and missionaries who bravely stand in a pulpit to share God’s Word to people who might not even believe.
Earlier this week, Metallica shared a remastered version of ‘hero of the day’ from their 1996 album ‘Load.’ The music video was directed by Anton Corbijn and follows a drug-addled youth who spends the day watching television. Each channel he watches features some aspect of Metallica—there’s a Western movie starring Kirk Hammett and Jason Newsted, a boxing match with Hetfield as the coach, and a game show where Lars Ulrich and Hetfield are contestants.
